Our Story

SO DHAWOW (Welcome)! 

Allow me to let you in on the tale of our beginnings. It is when I, Mahamed, upon my arrival to my dormitories at university came to the great realisation that I did not have access to my much beloved condiment to accompany my meals. My good friend Mohamed (Yes, we have the same name, different spelling... now let me continue) was also facing the same problem.

It was either, I simply live without it or I brace the kitchen myself to produce the chilli sauce that has always been presented with our staple Somali meals. Together, we chose the latter. Although the ingredients were fresh and simple, it would take us a considerable amount of time to perfect the Basbaas sauce. The Basbaas sauce was such a hit amongst anyone who had tasted it, that requests for our handmade sauce came from far and wide. The finalised product is the very venture you know today as Mo’s Original.
